Sign-up For Your In-Room Connection!
The following screens will guide you through the process of registering for your In-Room Connection. If you are moving in during fall semester Welcome Week, you will need to wait until your scheduled Cal Connect workshop has occurred before you can register. This does not apply to students at University Village, Manville, Channing-Bowditch, Jackson House, or Clark Kerr faculty.
Please do not attempt to register before you arrive on campus.
Hardware Requirements To connect to the network, you will need a computer with an Ethernet card or adapter installed. You will also need an Ethernet cable with an RJ-45 connector. Before you continue the registration process, you will need to know the Ethernet card address for your computer. Please refer to our "Finding Your Ethernet Card Address" Infosheet for assistance. This Infosheet is included your welcome bag if you received one. |
Software Requirements To meet campus minimum security requirements, your computer must be running an operating system that is actively supported by the manufacturer. Older, non-supported operating systems like Windows 95 and Mac OS 9.X do not meet campus minimum standards and are not allowed on the network. Your computer must be set to receive an IP address automatically. Please see the back of our "Connecting Your In-Room Connection" Infosheet for simple instructions on how to do so. |
